Across the Universe - Pigeon Point Lighthouse & Milky Way
It was a warm clear late summer night, the Milky Way illuminated the Pacific Ocean next to the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. It was a calm night for the Pacific as light waves crashed below on the rocks and a warm inland breeze blew out over the Pacific Ocean. The Milky Way was nearly perpendicular to the horizon of the ocean matching the tall structure of California's tallest lighthouse. Although Pigeon Point is undergoing repair and the main Fresnel has been removed, the new 6 beam Coast Guard beacon made a nice stand in that illuminated the top of the lighthouse and threw out beams to the horizon.
