Lighthouse

Lighthouse at Pigeon Point during the annual lighting event of the main Fresnel containing 1008 prisms lens. Tallest of all of California Lighthouses, Pigeon Point has stood since 1872 and until 200 + section of iron and concrete toppled from the top of the tower. Repairs are now underway and will not see the light from Pigeon Point for a number of years. The 16 foot 8000 lb Fresnel has been stored and can be viewed up close in the building next to the lighthouse. This lighting event was taken back on November 11th 2010. It may be 2020 before photographers can catch this special event once more.
