Once I start taking pictures I find it hard to leave. The sun had long since set and with it everyone else. It was one of the busiest days I've ever seen in the park but once it got dark, voop, everyone disappeared. I kept telling myself it was getting too dark but at the same time I was really liking what I was seeing. And I was the only one left taking pictures!

The camera can gather light over time much better than your eyes can see and the colors are often rich blues and violets. Some of my favorite shots by other photographers are those taken long after the sun has gone down. The soft light takes over and harsh contrast flows in to soft colors off the canyon walls and clouds above.
