A delightfully twisted and gnarly Sierra Juniper clings to the granite surface of Olmsted Point in the High Country of Yosemite National Park. The tree had been hit by lighting, blown by high winds and even survived deep winter snow. In the distance, I thunderstorm builds miles in to the sky over Clouds Rest as the sunshine sneaks under and reflects brilliantly off the sheer granite wall of the valley. The whole scene contrasted nicely off the deep cerulean blue sky in the clean mountain air.
