Curious to a fault his behavior was so adorable as this young cub plays on a fallen tree in Yosemite's high country. Taking the lead from his mother he didn't stray far but found a log of his own and started hunting for grubs under the bark. His beautiful reddish blonde coat gleaming in the afternoon sun shook as he bounced though the forest. A real ball of the youngster is beautiful example of the variety of colors found in California's black bear population.
