Glow behind Half Dome - Yosemite National Park
Half Dome is silhouetted by the raging fire that crossed over Little Yosemite Valley and climbed the cliffs of some of the most famous views in one of America's most famous parks. Forest that John Muir walked through are now nothing but ash and stumps. It is sad to see this beautiful forest burn but the drought has claimed much of California's beautiful back country and the season is far from over. Fire fighters fought the fire until dark. Rangers worked to get (hopefully) everyone out safely. The fire was fast moving and by afternoon had consumed a good portion of some of the best trails in the park. And it's not out yet.
