Last night was a bit scary in the mountains near Oakhurst and Bass Lake. Police were stopping us just down the street and would not allow us to head toward Oakhurst. They were suggesting we be ready for evacuation with as little as 10 minute notice so the car and truck are packed. Loads of fun as we packed in near darkness due to the power outage caused by the fire.

Good news is the evacuation never came and we are still home and the power is back on. Last night’s cool temps and high humidity caused the fire to slow down but it’s not out yet . I do not yet have confirmation but story is that El Cid is gone as is the Suburban Propane on the far end of Oakhurst. Road appears to still be closed but we will know more as time passes.
