Pink Moon Golden Gate - Lunar Eclipse 2011

Just prior to dawn a hazy sky makes for a soft pink moon instead of the expected blood red of a typical total lunar eclipse. The moon glows dimly as it slides behind the southern tower of the Golden Gate Bridge as viewed from Crissy Field. It was very early in the morning as thousands of photographers lined the shore to get a shot of a once in a lifetime event. The unusual haze due to a lack of the typical wind that usually plagues the Golden Gate made for a soft pastel as the morning sun began to illuminate the hazy fog that lingered above the most famous San Francisco landmark.
