Autumn's Spice
Following the first snow of the season the High Sierra begins a metamorphosis of stunning color and light. The mountains are sprinkled with glistening white while the groves of aspen and oak trees shift from their typical bright green color to reds, orange and bright yellows. The air becomes crystal clear making for stunning vistas of unlimited distance. Clouds layer the sky streaking across in one layer like streaks and in the next giant cotton balls. Here the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountain Range is spread out before you in colors that make you gasp and wonder if what you are seeing is really possible in this day and age. Most people around the world know well the large cities of California but few know that much of the state, especially that East of the Sierra is wide open and wild, much as it was hundreds of years ago.
