The USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) call sign "Gold Eagle" arrives home in San Francisco from a tour of duty in the Middle East sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge for Fleet Week 2011. She's home to nearly 6000 crew members (including Air wing). The massive Nimitz class supercarrier is a city of its own and measures 1092 feet yet is dwarfed by the Golden Gate bridge which measures about 1.2 miles across.
