Song of the Surf

As you pass from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway One will once again split off and head up the coast. The first beach you come to is a small but lovely little beach known as Muir Beach. Houses line the northern cliffs just above a small stream that feeds into the sea. The southern edge of the beach is lined with large boulders that protrude from the surf. As winter storms breach the sand between the creek and the sea, Pacific Wild Salmon swim upstream to spawn underneath towering redwoods.
