This was the night of the 134th lighting and there was a fantastic sunset.
The light you see shining though the lighthouse comes from the small Coast Guard Beacon mounted on the exterior of the opposite side. The beams are created when the light form the small light hits the prisms of the main lens which was lit later. This pales in comparison to the full lighting but the sunset made the shot worth posting.
I am hoping for a good sunset again this year on November 15th.
