A Praying Mantis takes over the Hummingbird feeder in hopes of trapping his own meal. The birds were deeply concerned by his presence and would feed very cautiously. Some wouldn't see him till after they had gotten pretty close then they would back off quickly. In the end the praying mantis was a tad small to take on even the smaller Rufous but not by much and the Rufous was having no part of this insect encroaching on his feeder.
