A stunning male Rufous hummingbird perches atop a branch overlooking his feeders. While smaller than most other hummingbirds this little guy is a fierce defender his territory chasing off all who encroach upon his perceived domain. Spending more time chasing off the other birds than actually feeding. Somewhat rare in this area they show up and take over the feeders till they have to go on the search for insects.
