Autumn Splendor

Somewhere high in the Sierra we turned on a small dirt road not sure where it would lead. Once in the canyon, I lost GPS as the road twisted and wound around the hills and deep in to an aspen grove that ran alongside a small creek. The further we went, the more the color changed from yellow to gold and finally to orange. Eventually the road ended abruptly deep in the aspen forest with no place to turn around. The road was lined with golden leaves that had fallen from the grove of aspen. I took as many shots as I could before trying to back out which didn't go well. Trying to turn the truck around at the wrong spot, I quickly became stuck between a rock and a hard spot, with the hard spot being a large aspen trunk and less than 6 inches to spare. It took quite some time but eventually I got the truck un-lodged and headed back down the road backwards nearly the entire way. It may have taken more time that I would have liked, but the pictures were nothing short of golden.
