A forest of rainbow colored aspen drop their leaves like gold medallions alongside a cascading creek near Lake Lundy in the High Sierra Nevada mountain range as Fall begins. A sudden gust of wind would send leaves flying though the air glittering as they passed between light and shade. A pure blue sky peeks though the golden aspen and creates a extravagant display of colors to stir and refresh the soul. Living in homes and cities, we sometimes forget we are creatures of nature. Spend an afternoon with nature and you feel refreshed and energetic. The smell and sight of a Fall forest near a running stream is subtle yet awe-inspiring. Wild places are needed to refresh the soul and remind us we are very much a part of this Earth. I may live in a house, but this is where I truly dwell.
