A small pond in a grove of aspen near the appropriately named community of Aspendell reflects the full range of autumn colors below the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada along Highway 168 The aspen trees typically turn in November but this year an early snow storm blew through dumping snow on the peaks above ushering in the dramatic change in color that occurs each Fall. The area is a hotspot for Fall photography and trout fishing. We spotted the pond from the road above and drove down to see if it would work for reflections and it turned out to be a great mirror for the trees and crystal blue sky.
