Mirror of Autumn

As the sun recedes toward the south the nights grow longer and the temperature drops Autumn arrives in the Eastern Sierra and the bright colors of Fall descend down from the high country. Early morning at one of the many beaver dams creates a mirrored surface perfect for picking up the brilliant colors of the distant aspen trees and high Sierra peaks in Lundy Canyon just north of the small sleepy town of Lee Vining California located on the edge of Mono Lake. In this shot, you can see the perfect construction of a beaver dam in the lower left. It made a near perfect line across the creek and was amazingly efficiently constructed.
