Bass Lakes cool clear waters make for good refreshing drink to help douse a nearby forest fire. The fire broke out on Malum Ridge road that runs along the eastern side of Bass Lake. Home owners nearby were ordered to evacuate but the fire was quickly held by fire fighters. Though Bass Lake is low this year due to the drought it is still a popular place for boating, fishing and vacations.
