Heart of Yosemite

Heart of Yosemite

We started at 3500 feet and started climbing up the Sierra Mountains in to Yosemite National Park and eventually to arguably one of the most incredible vistas on the planet, Glacier Point at about 7500 feet. Thunderclouds building over the Sierra Nevada prompted us to make our first trip to Yosemite after recently moving back to the area just outside the National Park boundary. The clouds were forming up nicely and right smack in the center was a nice heart shaped cloud right over the valley. Do you see it? Talk about perfect timing. The day was perfect with just the right breeze making for a perfect moonlit night and it only gets better as we took pictures of the sunset over Half Dome. Smoke from a nearby fire would eventually fill the valley under the moonlight making for a night that had much warmer colors than I had ever seen. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed visiting Yosemite on a moment’s notice.
