Storm clouds part to illuminate the tall grass of Ahwahnee Meadow. The contrast with the darkened sky seems to cause the edge of the meadow to glow. Half Dome, Yosemite's most famous granite monolith towers nearly 3000 feet above the lush evergreens in the background. The scope of the size of this is difficult to comprehend even while standing on the edge of the meadow. You can take in this view daily as a row of cabins opposite the shot host a year round web cam. The cabins and this stunning view are enjoyed daily by park employees for the time that they work in the park. I am sure they have tough jobs but WOW, what a few to wake up to.
