Just wanting to get out I ended up in Yosemite Valley just walking around Cooks Meadow when my wife and I stumble across two young bucks relaxing before the rut. This young buck will have steep competition but he is a beautiful animal. We watched them as the sun peaked in and out from behind a fast moving storm. As the sun shone down on the Aspens and the golden tall grass of Yosemite Valley it illuminated the scene perfectly. A bus of tourist pulled up and they all rushed up to the meadow. It's important to remember you must maintain 25 feet from the wildlife. And good manners not to jump the fence and ignore signs to jump in front of other photographers. Though I do understand the excitement a scene like this generates. Fortunately I was carrying my large zoom so none of that was a problem.
