I rushed out to get a sunset knowing was likely too late. We got down to the lake and color from the sunset had just started to fade. I managed a few descent shots before it was nearly gone and the stars were starting to show in the twilight sky. My hopes were just slipping away when the real light show began. Bolts of lightning began striking all around the south side of Bass Lake. I walked down the beach to point the camera at the near Full Moon and just as I started clicking off the shots we caught lightning.

On the left you see the lights of The Pines Resort nestled down in the forest on the shore of Bass Lake. To the right just above Goat Mountain the full moon lights up the thunderheads. Just off center, Thor throw’s down what looks a lot like a Peace Sign and it reflects in the lake perfectly. I would get a number of other shots as the clouds continued to build but it doesn’t get much better than this.
