The beauty of the Eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains in full Autumn color cannot be understated. Reflected in a the mirror like surface of a beaver pond makes for an epic landscape true to the American West. These deep canyons and peaks were traversed by trappers, miners and pioneers remain much as seen by the Native Americans who lived there and the early settlers that pushed Westward into California. This must have been a welcome site after passing through the water parched desert.
